hopefully i can do this nature reserve some justice. hutan lipur ampang is among one of KL's most accessible natural sites to the denizens. fresh pristine waters that drains out to Sg. Gombak going on to Sg. Klang in the heart of the city.

there are infinite layers of beauty in abundnace in this small strip of land. long the preserve of holidaymakers, this land also holds special attractions to photographers. Macro and insect shooters and birders have laready known this place as their haven so close to the city.

i will pick the most low lying fruits of photography here (grand panorama and the flowing water shots) before striving to get more creative shots in this place.

as a routine, i tend to be awed by majestic vistas and tremendous views from high places. kinda have to remind myself that beauty is sometimes simpler to find, just have to open your eyes to the views right at your feet.

the long and winding road to hulu langat. the sunrise is pretty spectacular. sayang the haze is still quite bad.
love the juxtaposition of the undeveloped foreground and the ultramodern KLCC site.

the focal point of all visitors to kuala lumpur, this majestic building stands proud in the center of KL. it's a pity that further effort hasn't been made to fully appreciate the facade and currently being used as an office for the culture ministry.

more could've been done. here's hoping for the future:)

been a long while since i posted.
kinda shocked when i got to KLCC tiny mosque and saw how things have changed...
they've added some more external promenade to all sides of the mosque.

all the changes have altered the the overall shape of the mosque...and its not looking better:(

but i do see the need for it... the jemaah(congregation) has exponentially exploded and so they needed the space...

i get guilty pangs whenever i see scenes like this. should i give to him. is it going to make any difference. should i just give more to JAKIM or ZAKAT selangor? is this a scam mob for poor people? or he is really destitute and left to fend for himself with no assistance?

slept peacefully without knowing over two centuries and woke up alter as fresh as day as the GOD intended. praise to GOD.

my first trial of slide film as a proper outdoor shoot in ephesus (EFES in turkish) turkey.
the film came out right. the slides are super cool. the pix came out looking as real as the actual scene. damn expensive to develop though :(

i also shot two rolls of film in BW (ilford c41 BW)and also another EBX chrome slides in a beautiful valley in Kapadokya that did not come out right. loaded wrongly in my freshly serviced nikon FE2. my bad :(

a peaceful if not loud protest at masjid negara asking the prime minister to be more Islamic and have more fire-brand actions to protect Islam in the government.

somehow i don't think it will work.
i see their point but i think they need to start from the grass roots. they need to ensure their group members are there to help their members in need, help out people from other races in times of need. i dont see them helping to integrate other members of different religion to work together.

GOD only knows.

i really would love to emulate garry winogrand. his style is a bit brash but he seems to me like a guy who loves to observe the surrounds and reacts to everchanging environment.

went to see MONO live in KLpac. never heard of them but they rock! lots of fellers with huge SLRs.more power to them.
my GX100 seems to be just right. can't get their faces in darkness, so tried to get distinct shapes of the spectacular musicians.
